Will checking my eligibility affect my credit score?
No. The pre-qualification uses a soft check — it tells you whether you're eligible without touching your credit score. A hard check only happens when you move forward with the full application, and you'll be asked for explicit consent before that step happens.
What interest rates does Rideau offer through Financeit?
The standard rate is 13.99%. We also offer promotional programs including no payments and no interest for 3, 6, or 12 months, as well as locked rates as low as 6.99% for 36 months. The right program depends on your project size and timeline — we walk through it with you at the consultation.
Do I need to finance the whole home, or can I do just a few windows?
You can finance any size of project, including a single window or one entry door. There is no minimum number of units. The minimum loan amount is $1,000, so as long as your project reaches that threshold, financing is available. We will confirm what options apply during your consultation once we have a written scope.
Can two people apply together?
Yes. Financeit allows joint applications, which can strengthen the application if one applicant has a longer credit history or higher income. Both applicants go through the same process — a soft credit check first, a hard check only if you proceed. We can walk you through how to set this up during your consultation.
When do payments start?
Typically after installation is complete. Depending on the promotional terms available on your project, there may also be a deferred payment option — no payments for a set period after signing. We review the specific schedule with you before anything is finalized so you know exactly when your first payment hits and what it will be.
Can financing be used for entry doors, not just windows?
Yes. Financing through Financeit applies to any project we install — windows, entry doors, or a combination of both. The loan is tied to your project total, not to a specific product category. If you are planning a full entryway transformation alongside new windows, both can be financed under the same loan.
Is the financing process secure?
Yes. Financeit is a licensed Canadian financial services platform and is regulated under federal lending rules. Your information is not shared beyond what is required for the loan application. The initial application only requires a soft credit check, which does not affect your score. A hard check is only run if you choose to proceed with a loan offer.
