Rated 5/5
Most window jobs swap the glass and leave the wall behind it the same. We rebuild the opening, engineer the install, and deliver windows you will feel and see for the next twenty years.

We’ve partnered with:
Most homeowners think the window is the upgrade. The install is the upgrade. The window is the component.
Other Companies
Replacement, not transformation
They swap the glass and leave the rough opening, flashing, and air sealing as they found them. The new window inherits the old problems.
Spec sheet sales
A glossy brochure of brand options without explaining which one suits your wall, your exposure, or how the room is used.
Crew of the day
A subcontracted team you have never met, on a tight schedule, finishing fast and moving on.
With Rideau
We rebuild the opening, not just the window
Flashing, air sealing, insulation, sill detailing. The work behind the trim is where comfort and longevity come from.
Specified to your home
We choose products around the architecture, the exposure, and how each room is actually used. Not the inventory we have on hand.
Our team, our standard
The same Rideau specialists from consultation through install. Tightly run, tidy, photographed.
A short visit that quietly removes most of the uncertainty homeowners have about this kind of project.
Boost Efficiency
Drafts gone. Cold spots gone. The room your radiator was fighting becomes the room you spend time in.
A documented install
Photos of every layer, from rough opening to final trim. You will know exactly what is in your wall.
Reduced condensation
Failed seals and inadequate insulation cause it, not the weather. We address both.
Quieter rooms
The right glass package and a tight install knock down street and neighbour noise meaningfully.
Better resale
Buyers, inspectors, and appraisers all notice properly installed windows.
Materials built for Ottawa winters
Frame and finish choices that hold up to our climate with very little upkeep.

01
In-home consultation
We come to your home, walk every window and door, and listen to what has been bothering you — the drafts, the condensation, the rooms that never quite warm up. You get a clear explanation of what is happening and why. No brochures, no pressure. A written scope follows in a few days. There is nothing to decide at the visit.
Design and specification
We finalize the trim profile, finish, hardware, and glass package around your specific home — your walls, your exposure, your rooms. Not around what we have on hand. Drawings or sketches are prepared as needed. Procurement begins when you say go.

Photographed install
Same team, start to finish. No subcontractors dropped in on the day. Every layer of the install is photographed so you know exactly what is in your walls. The worksite is kept tidy throughout. On completion, we walk you through every window — and leave a home that performs noticeably better from the first cold night.
How do I know if my windows actually need replacing or just servicing?
A few signs point clearly toward replacement: condensation between panes (a failed seal you cannot fix), visible gaps or rot around the frame, drafts you can feel at the edge of a closed window, or single-pane glass in a home that is supposed to be well insulated. Hardware issues, minor paint wear, or operational stiffness are often serviceable. When you are not sure, the in-home consultation gives you a straight answer with no obligation to proceed.
What types of windows do you install?
We install casements, double-hung, awnings, sliders, fixed lites, bay and bow assemblies, and specialty shapes. We specify from multiple manufacturers rather than pushing a single product line, which means we choose the window that actually fits the opening, the wall assembly, and the look of your home — not the one with the best margin for us.
How disruptive is the installation — do I need to leave the house?
You do not need to leave. Most window installations are done from the exterior, which means minimal disruption inside. We protect flooring and furniture near any interior work, clean up as we go, and leave the site tidy at the end of each day. For a full home, expect one to three days of work. Individual rooms are usually unaffected until we reach that window.
Will new windows actually lower my heating bill?
Yes, but the improvement depends on what you are replacing. Moving from single-pane to a modern double-pane, low-e unit is a significant change. Moving from an already-decent window that is simply aging is more modest. What matters equally is the installation quality — a high-performance window set poorly still leaks. We document the performance specs of what we install so you know exactly what you are getting.
Can I replace just one window, or does it have to be the whole home?
You can replace as few as one. There is no minimum. That said, if most of your windows are the same age and condition, replacing them together usually makes more sense logistically and financially — one mobilization, one lead time, one disruption. We will give you an honest read on which approach makes the most sense for your specific situation during the consultation.
Are your windows covered by a warranty?
Yes, two warranties apply to every window project. The manufacturer warranty covers the product itself, including the insulated glass seal. Our own written labour warranty covers the installation. If there is ever a question about how a window was set — whether it was our work or something that developed over time — we come back and look at it. You will receive both warranties in writing before installation begins.
