We’ve partnered with:

What an in-home consultation should actually be.

What an in-home consultation should actually be.

Most window and door visits are quotes in disguise. Ours is a planning conversation that earns the right to your project.

Quick Quotes

Tape measure in, ballpark price out. No real diagnosis of how your home is performing or where it is failing.

Sales Pressure

A closer arrives ready to discount you into a same-day decision before you have had time to think.

Vague Specs

A line-item list you cannot compare, missing the install details that decide whether the product actually performs.

With Rideau

Real Diagnosis

We walk every opening, identify failures and opportunities, and explain what we see in plain terms.

No Pressure pricing

A clear, written scope you can sit with, share with your partner, and come back to on your own time.

Installation as the product

The window matters. The way it goes into your wall matters more. We document both, so you know exactly what you are paying for.

What else we do

What you actually get from a Rideau consultation.

What you actually get from a Rideau consultation.

A short visit that quietly removes most of the uncertainty homeowners have about this kind of project.

In-home, on your schedule

A walkthrough at your house, not a showroom trip. We work around your day, not the other way around.

A real diagnosis

We identify drafts, condensation paths, failed seals, and structural concerns before recommending a single product.

Plain-language education

You will leave understanding why a window leaks, what an installation actually involves, and where your money goes.

A written scope, not a verbal quote

Itemized, specific, and yours to review on your own time. No napkin numbers, no pressure.

Design-first thinking

Window and door choices that fit the architecture of your home, not the inventory of a warehouse.

One specialist, start to finish

The person who plans your project is involved through install. No surprise handoffs to a stranger on the day.

A simple, considered process from first call to written scope.

Simple Booking

Pick a time that works for you. We confirm by phone, send a short prep note so you know exactly what to expect, and arrive when we said we would. No showroom trip, no intake process. Just a real conversation, at your house.

In-home walkthrough

We assess every window and door, listen to what has been bothering you, and explain what we find in plain terms — no jargon, no pressure, no agenda beyond giving you a clear picture of your home. Plan on 60 to 90 minutes. By the end of it, you will understand your home better than you did before we arrived.

Written scope

Within a few business days, you will receive a detailed scope and pricing specific to your home — your openings, your priorities, what you told us during the walkthrough. Sit with it. Share it with your partner. Ask questions on your own time. There is no decision required at the visit, and no follow-up pressure after it.

Is there any cost or obligation to book a consultation?

None. The in-home consultation is complimentary and comes with no obligation to move forward. We come to your home, walk through your space, and give you a clear picture of what is happening with your windows and doors. What you do with that information is entirely up to you.

How long does the visit take?

Most consultations run 60 to 90 minutes. That includes a full walkthrough of your windows and doors, a conversation about what you have been noticing — drafts, condensation, noise, appearance — and a plain-language explanation of what we find. You will leave with a clear understanding of your home before we leave.

Who comes to my home — a salesperson or a specialist?

A Rideau specialist who is involved in the actual install work. Not a closer. The person who walks your home is the same person responsible for the project if you proceed. There is no handoff to a sales team, no script, and no pitch. The visit is a planning conversation, not a presentation.

Do I need to prepare anything before you arrive?

Nothing specific. It helps if we can access the windows and doors you want looked at, including any that are difficult to reach or partially blocked. If you have noticed particular issues — a draft in a certain room, condensation on a specific unit, a door that sticks in winter — making a note of those ahead of time means we can pay closer attention to the right areas.

When do I receive the written scope after the visit?

Within a few business days. We take what we observed during the walkthrough and build a scope specific to your home — your openings, your priorities, what you told us. It is not a templated quote with a ballpark number. It is a detailed document you can sit with, review on your own time, and share with your partner before making any decision.

Do I have to decide anything during the visit?

No. Nothing is decided at the consultation. The written scope comes after, and any decision on your part comes after that. We do not present pricing at the visit, we do not ask for a deposit, and there is no follow-up pressure once the scope is sent. You reach out when you are ready.
